Sherrill Rayford is a career language arts teacher with diverse teaching experiences in rural, urban, and suburban school environments. Additionally, she has successfully taught students living in projects as well as the son of a governor. Some of her writing has been published in educational journals, and she recently completed professional development at Oxford University in Oxford, England. However, Sherrill believes it is important for the teacher of writing to remain a practioner to continually relate to the joys and frustrations experienced by student writers. More than fifty of her students have had works accepted for publication.
